This policy applies to all services offered by Stories.stream Inc. (the "Company", "we", "us", "our"), including, without limitation, the Website (as defined in our Terms of Service), all associated applications, and governs data collection and usage.
2. Policy Changes
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service at any time. Updates are posted on the Website, and we encourage you to check frequently for changes. The current policy applies to all existing account information unless otherwise stated.
3. Data Protection
The Company has privacy and security practices in place to safeguard our customers' personal information. These practices are reviewed, and if necessary revised, on a regular basis.
4. Collected Information
We collect personal data including name, email address, postal address, phone number, date of birth, account details, and customer service records. We also collect:
- Device information (smart TVs, mobile devices, set-top boxes, gaming systems)
- Activity data (title selections, watch history, search queries)
- Customer service interactions (dates, times, chat transcripts, phone numbers)
- Device IDs, software characteristics, IP addresses, and web logs
- Cookie and beacon data, including ad impression data
The Company does not use or disclose sensitive personal information — such as race, religion, political affiliations, or sexual preference — without your explicit consent. Payment information is processed by third-party processors only; we retain only transaction dates and content access timeframes.
5. Deleting Data and Your Account
You may request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing hello@stories.stream. All data and the account will be deleted within 14 business days.
6. Comments and Public Content
Information you disclose publicly on message boards or other public areas of the Service may be collected and used by others. You post such content at your own risk.
7. How We Use Information
We use your information to:
- Verify your identity during account access
- Provide the Service (remembering preferences, processing registration, and billing)
- Understand customer needs and market our products and services
- Enforce our Terms of Service and investigate prohibited or illegal activities
- Communicate with you about your account and the Service
- Manage our business operations
- Meet legal and regulatory requirements
8. Disclosure to Service Providers
We engage third-party service providers (sub-processors) for marketing, advertising, infrastructure, IT services, payment processing, customer service, data analysis, and surveys. We do not authorize them to use or disclose your personal information except in connection with providing their services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites.
Our current sub-processors include:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (EU / US regions)
- Mux — video encoding, streaming delivery, and analytics
- Stripe — payment processing and fraud prevention
- Brevo — transactional and marketing email delivery
- Vercel / Cloudflare — web hosting, edge network, and CDN delivery
9. Communications
Upon account creation, you may receive:
- Required emails (transaction confirmations, release notifications, and account notices)
- Marketing emails about upcoming releases (no more than once every three months), which require your separate consent
10. Cookies
We use three categories of cookies:
- Essential cookies: required for authentication, security, and fraud prevention
- Performance / functionality cookies: enable personalisation and analytics; declining them may result in limited functionality
- Similar technologies: browser storage, HTML5, IndexedDB, and WebSQL used for equivalent purposes

11. Minors
The Service and its content are not intended for children under the age of majority in their jurisdiction without parental supervision. We will delete any account we determine was created by a minor who misrepresented their age.
12. Disclosure to Third Parties
We do not disclose your personal information to third parties except with your consent, or when required by law, or when necessary to: conform to legal requirements; protect our rights or property; or protect the safety of our users or the public. Anonymous usage information may be shared with internet service providers. If your account is cancelled, we may retain your personal information for up to one (1) month, or such other period as required by law, before deleting it.
13. Amendments
You may verify the accuracy, completeness, and currency of your personal information held by us and request amendments by contacting us at hello@stories.stream.
14. Disputes
If you choose to use any of the Company's services, your use and any dispute over privacy is subject to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service, including limitations on damages, resolution of disputes, and application of the law of the Province of British Columbia, Canada.
